Erica O'Neal
Welcome! My name is Erica O’Neal and I am excited about your interest in joining the tennis team. I am the Mathematics Department Chair and Head Boys and Girls Tennis Coach here at Hampton High School. I have 18 years of experience teaching and coaching and have loved every moment of it. Teaching and coaching are my passion and my true calling. I couldn’t dream of doing anything else. I always believe that students do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. I make building positive relationships with my students, parents, players, and the entire community a top priority. I love helping others, I love giving back to my community, and I love my family.
I grew up on a farm in Barnesville, Ga and have been playing tennis and musical instruments all my life. I graduated top of my class from Lamar County High School, Summa Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a B.S.Ed. in Mathematics/Mathematics Education, and a M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from Thomas University. With HHS tennis program, I ensure you that academics will always come first. I am at Hampton to make a positive impact on my students/players and motivate them to pursue future endeavors. I am a student-advocate, and I always put my students first. I will do all I can and whatever it takes to ensure success for each student and get them college and career ready. We are building young scholar athletes and molding them for post-secondary options where they can strive for excellence. I am looking forward to a great season and an amazing year. #GoHornets
